Google Summer of Code

Hey Everyone!
Welcome to the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) section of my blog. I got selected for GSoC 2020 with Debian.
My project is “Android SDK tools in Debian”

The end goal of the project is making the entire Android toolchain and SDK tools available in debian archives. So that a user can develop android apps using only free software and easy to use debian packages.

You can read more about the project here. I will be working with Manas Kashyap and Samyak Jain on this project and we have Chirayu Desai, Andrej Shadura and Hans-Christoph Steiner as our official mentors for the project. The project is mostly a part of Debian-Android-Tools team but we will also be working with Debian-Java team as there is quite a overlap between the two. Some others with whom we will be working are Markus Koschany, Saif Abdul Cassim and Kai-Chung Yan.

This section of my blog will be dedicated to weekly updates during the course of GSoC (1st June to 24th August 2020) and I will be documenting all of my work here. I will try to simplify the steps and note them here for reference at a later point if time, if required.

As of now, we (students) are in the community bonding period and are investing our time in learning about the working of Debian, talking to fellow students, mentors and developers from Debian.

I will also try to update the blog here during this period and make some posts about random things which I am trying with my Raspberry Pi. So keep checking here for them. 🙂

I guess that’s all for today. Have a great day y’all! Stay Safe.
